Michigan City

For use of the story, liberties have been taken for certain locations and "blockades".
Major highways out of the town have been professionally blocked by city ordinance
Up north, on the back roads highway, because it's a smaller area, has been blocked with impromptu scaffolding and fence. (it would be a real pain in the ass to attempt getting through it.
The easiest ways out of the city is by cutting through buildings. The mall is the most convenient, being located just on the edge of highway 12 (current destination out of town)






All in all, it's a little town, with it's own roads 'n shit. Like a mall village
(they have a great outlet mall)


- There are very nice homes along Lake Michigan from Beverly Shores (west of MC) all the way to New Buffalo MI (east of MC) - all very expensive, and many owners from Chicago.

- there are inexpensive, safe neighborhoods in Mich City - south of downtown east or west of Franklin out near Coolspring Ave.

- But I wouldn't think of living downtown, along Michigan Blvd or anywhere near Lighthouse Mall/the prison/NIPSCO plant - some very scary areas indeed.

there are more "bad" areas than good in Mich City, and jobs and schools aren't promising. it may be generations before Michigan City recovers, it was a great place a few generations ago.
